Celebrity Spotting

Betcha you'll never guess who I saw exit our hotel and get into this van...

We arrived at our hotel in San Diego a few days ago to be told that Senator John McCain was staying here and would be exiting within the next 5-30minutes. We were also asked to move our vehicle. (What, the hotel has no interest in our Ford pickup with it's attached Uhaul trailer, loaded to the brim with children and all sorts of familial traveling goods, being in the background of press photos???? Fine.)

So we moved the truck and ran inside to check in. No, Thomas was not wearing any shoes, and yes, both boys suffered from car-seat bedhead. I was wearing sweats. I admit, we looked a bit white-trashy. Not the choice set-up for a possible senator sighting.

All sorts of fancy-schmancy people were milling around, and while Charlie was checking us in the senator himself walked right past us - smiled at me and the boys - and continued outside to the above pictured van. I was all worried that I wouldn't recognize him, but he looks just like himself (oddly) - and such a kind-looking man. Of course I couldn't think what to do. I ran outside with my kids running circles around me and managed to snap this glorious picture.

We are still in San Diego. Charlie is starting another trade show and the weather here is wonderful. The boys and I went to the beach for a short while today. Yay. Now they're waking from their naps.

how fun! I've never seen a celebrity, but when I worked for the airline I got to talk to Danny Glover. Whoopee, but still...but closest brush with fame. =)

OMIGOSH! I think....yes..... I CAN SEE THE SHAPE OF HIS HEAD!!! What an incredible picture! You can sell it to the Weekly World News or something. :)

Speaking of pictures, are you going to take a picture of your bump? You don't have that long left, you know.
