Off the Wagon

Good news: I have 8 pounds to go (started at 30 in July)
Bad news: I ate three (yes, three!) Krispy Kreme donuts this morning

Am I insane? Have I NO self-control? There's not even anything abnormally stressful going on. I just up and ate them. They were sitting on the table innocently enough with chocolate on top of them and I ate them. Gruff!

What I'm trying to do is look at the way I'm eating as a way of life, not just a diet. I've come leaps and bounds for sure, but I still mess up. I don't want to eat three donuts. I don't feel good after I eat them. But I ate them. I'm hoping that as time goes on I'll have less and less wagon jolts and will be more consistent.

I do allow for treats. I do let myself enjoy a snack, but I try to mostly make healthy choices, eat a lot of veggies, and only eat when hungry, and not stuff myself. Dr. Laura says not to "try" but to "do".

And I have to remember, tomorrow is a brand new day. I'll run in the a.m. and go from there. My resolve is firm. I'll make some hummus. It's already looking good.

Hey Christy!

I forgot about your website and then remembered a few days ago. It's so fun hearing about your family and seeing so many cute pictures of the boys.

I just want to tell you that I think its awesome you have been so disciplined and so healthy! That is quite a feat to get yourself back to your prepregnancy weight. It seems like you have done it in a very balanced way too.

I just want to encourage you too, as a woman just out of the throes of self-conscious college, that "you", the person of "Christy" are infinitely more valuable than your weight or appearance because you are a child of God. I am sure you know that, probably much clearer than I do, but just don't forget it :)

I miss you and your family. I don't know if you will be around at Christmas, but if not I can't wait to hear about your adventures in Indonesia, how exciting! Give the boys a hug for me!

Ah! It's so good to hear from you Larissa! I am so excited to hear about your NEW BABY!!!! We all are, really. Thank you so much for the encouragment, it never hurts to be reminded who we really are. Our thoughts and prayers are always with you two (three!) and we miss you lots!

K-thanks for the encouragment as well! I totally relate to what you're saying. I, too, have been getting up at 6. Until we got hit with the flu bug. Now I am rolling out of bed only when somebody wakes up first. That is another wagon I have to climb back onto, because I really like the flow of my day when I get up early.

Good work. You're not off the wagon, honey chile, your gear just slipped a notch. It's back in now, right? One day at a time, and move on! :)
