Our Garage

The title makes it sound like we have an unusual affection for it, like, "our baby", "our first home"...well, it is our first garage, and boy are we using it. We haven't been able to set foot in there since we moved in January. I'm not exagerating in the least. That garage has been packed to the hilt. For two, okay, four people who moved here from a 1950's travel trailer it's amazing how much garbage we have. (Isn't it funny that garbage and garage are only one letter apart?)

So on Saturday we decided to go for it. Charlie decided we would go for it. I wanted to nap. BUT, I'm glad he did, because we worked our tails off and after 6 trips to Goodwill, we are able to use the garage! yay!

I can find things again! We have ACCESS to the sand toys, the bike helmets, I found several pairs of shoes, Charlie has a work area for the wood carvings, our Nemo kite is hanging blissfully from the flourescent light, what says home more than an accessable garage (and a happy Nemo kite)? I'm not saying it's perfect, but we know where things are and we can get to them. That's amazing.

Ah, the peace of knowing that as you sit in your bedroom typing away, your garage is cleanly sitting under you.
