Project

A friend is having her first baby, and I enjoyed making these fun little onesies with matching burp rags. Cuz anyone who's ANYONE has matching burp rags...right?

My favorite part was sewing the lace on the heart burp rag. For marketing purposes, I'm pretty sure they're now called "burp cloths", and it does sound better.

I copied these shapes out of a magazine, but you can use coloring books to find simple shapes, or if you can draw (which I decidedly cannot do) you can draw your own. Then just cut the fabric out, iron it to fusible backing (found at your local fabric store), and sew around the edges with a machine. I have used the zigzag stitch before, but this time I just did a regular stitch. The edge of the fabric frays a little bit and looks fun.

I embroidered the bee's wings, and did use a zigzag stitch to attach the elephant's ear to his body.

Laura and I were checking out your blog tonight and happily recognized the paisley print on the hearts. She loves her baptism blanket and Ayrton is still using the matching diaper changing pad. While I struglle to to hold him still long enough to change his diaper, I enjoy the brief glimpse of the pink paisley and know that we have an auntie/sister-in-law/godmother who loves us enough to keep those diapers changes stylish.
Love,
Audrey and Laura
