Is it raining in your neck of the woods? It is in ours. And it's supposed to get crazier tomorrow. I thought I'd share an original FunKitchen recipe, and a fun activity for indoors.
Oven S'mores
graham crackers
mini marshmallows
chocolate chips
(surprising ingredients list, I know)
Place graham crackers strategically on a baking sheet. Pile the marshmallows onto graham crackers, add chocolate chips. Heat under the broiler until marshmallows are delightfully puffy and slightly browned. Enjoy. (if you have a broiler drawer at the bottom of your oven and you don't want everything sliding around and making a gooey marshmallow-ey mess -like me- then just bake them at 350 for 3-5min).
The above recipe was actually invented by FunDad Charlie. I told you, he's fun!
And here's something to keep the troops occupied for at least 15 minutes. I only think of doing these frosting and graham cracker houses at Christmas time, but what's to keep them to such a short time frame?
If you really feel like you need a reason for making these you can talk to the kids about building their houses on the firm foundation of Jesus. And you can teach them the song about the wise man building his house upon the rock.
Or, you can just let them make little houses.
It kept my big boys busy while the little ones were taking their naps.
