I have the wonderful privilege at this time of meeting with the woman who discipled me through college. We're reading a book called "Armchair Mystic" on contemplative prayer. It's been wonderful. Such a great thing for this time in my life (though I suspect it would have been great at any time thus far). A verse that JeanAnn (my friend) recently shared with me is Isaiah 40:11, and I want to share it with you:
"He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young."
That was good for me to read. He gently leads those that have young. That's me. I have young. And I am loving that God is gently leading me right now. I need to be gently led. I feel raw, my days are thick with duties and emotions (mine and little people's), and my God is taking care of me. Very gently.
Even if I had no small people leaning on me, I could rest in this verse. Just think of being carried close to God's heart. That small thought makes me feel rested, at peace.
I thought maybe you could use this verse too.
